You're a hands-on guy/girl, right? You're used to putting your own pants on in the morning and making your own coffee. I bet you even change the oil in your own car once in a while. But when it comes to your bike, do you perform the maintenance yourself? I know lots of people that will fix a headlight bulb in their car but won't touch the same problem in their bike with a ten-foot pole. If only there was a book that would tell you the ins and outs of basic motorcycle maintenance from someone who has been writing about motorcycles for quite some time...
Mark Zimmerman did just that. He's been a motorcycle journalist for years, and he decided to write "The Essential Guide to Motorcycle Maintenance: Tips & Techniques to Keep Your Motorcycle in Top Condition." In it, he talks about many general things you can do in your own garage to keep your bike running well. What's best is: it's not like just buying a service manual on your specific bike. This book covers information that is universal to motorcycles in general, so whether you have a Harley or Honda, you'll get valuable information you can use. In the 226-page book, there are over 500 color photos to help show you what you're reading. Reading this book probably won't make you an expert mechanic overnight, but it may save you a few bucks you would have spent at the shop.
