Motogear Deluxe Cruiser MotorcycleAfter a beautiful, sunny ride, I thought I would park in the driveway at the in-law's place. After a few hours, I came out to find a sticky residue covering my machine. I hadn't noticed the high and mighty pines that were dripping sun-warmed sap everywhere.

This is an example of just one of the outdoor threats posed to bikes that are left alone and vulnerable in the elements. There are others: sun damage, windblown dirt, bird crap, etc. I don't care how much you like to see that bike shine; no one likes to wash more than ride.

The MotoGear Deluxe cover is made for all-weather protection. Perfect for folks who have to store their bikes outside, there is even metallic heat shield fabric to prevent it from melting onto your pipes. The locking bottom won't let this cover blow off.

A 2-year warranty is a bit of a surprise for an all-weather cover that expects you to be impatient about your bike's cooling cycles. I would have guessed they would cover a single year, but they went the extra mile and charged only about $60 for all that protection.

Durable and ready to take the sun without becoming brittle, most riders are more than happy with the Deluxe cover. The Deluxe, however, doesn't come with that soft cotton liner that you find on many indoor covers, so, if you're not going to be using this in the elements, you might be better getting one designed for the garage.

For the price, it makes sense to let something else take the brutality of nature. It's better than having to spend hours researching something that will take the sap of your tank without damaging the paint.

Here's a similar half-cover for your motorcycle.
