RK Excel America is probably best-known for their after-market wheels. They also make spokes to go with their wheels, and now have come up with a wrench to help you set the spokes to the correct torque.
If you've ever considered purchasing a custom wheel, yet were intimidated by the almost mythical proportions sometimes given to the truing of wheels, this tool might help de-mystify some of the process for you. But for most, this tool will be a handy item for keeping your stock spokes tuned, which will in turn keep your wheels rolling smooth and at their maximum strength, and help prevent damage to the hub, rim, and spokes.
The Excel torque wrench settings range from 15-60 inch pounds. How do you know what your settings are? Some owner's manuals list the torque specifications. If yours doesn't, you can contact Excel and they'll give you their recommendations. Or, you can contact local bike shop mechanics -- they can usually consult shop manuals for the manufacturer's suggested torque settings.
The set comes with five interchangeable (and replaceable) heads in sizes from 6.1mm to 6.7mm. Additional heads can be purchased for applications from 4.6mm to 6.9mm. All of the pieces fit inside an included composite box for easy storage.
