For a device that is just a bit larger than a credit card, the Trail Tech Endurance speedometer can do more than the average gauge cluster. The speedometer function alone includes current speed (of course), average speed, and maximum speed. The Endurance is, however, more than just a speedometer. It is also an odometer, clock, and ride time/distance monitor.
You'll be able to keep an eye on your distance traveled, accumulated riding time, and you'll even know when you are below or above your average speed. The ride time stopwatch automatically starts and stops with your bike. To cap off the most noteworthy features, it has programmable maintenance alerts.
The installation only takes about 15 minutes, and it is model specific for ideal fit. Although the buttons have tactile feedback for easier use with gloved fingers, they are close together. The bulk of your gloves will determine the ease of use, but considering there are four simultaneously displayed windows for speed, ride time, distance, and clock, you should not need to do much button pushing as you ride.
The backlight for the Endurance speedometer comes on for five seconds to save battery life, and the battery itself is estimated to last for about 1.5 years before you'll need to replace it. The operational temperature ranges from freezing to 140 degrees, and it will work for speeds up to 199 miles per hour as well.
I would only use about half of the features, but I know riders who like digital gadget arsenals on their bikes and this would save them space and money. The price is right, so if you just need a new speedometer you might as well get the extra features.
